Will transferring my website to a new hosting provider affect my SEO?
  • The basic idea of moving a website from one server/host to another, cannot be associated with any ranking changes despite changing the IP address of the website. However, you could experience a temporary rank drop if there is downtime during the transfer. If you are transferring over to Flexible Net Services, our expert technical support team will help you plan the transfer and minimize or completely remove downtime from the equation by using the best practices in the industry.

The only other way your SEO can be affected is if the new host is very fast compared to the previous one. You might see your ranking rising as search engines prioritize websites that load in 2 seconds or less. Note that speed is only one of the ~200 different factors that play a role in your ranking, so the impact will not be that significant.

The third big concern is running a website on a shared hosting environment. Google has confirmed that not having a Dedicated IP, which is very common if you are hosted on a shared hosting plan will not negatively impact your SEO, despite other websites with different page ranks using the same IP address.

How to transfer your website to Flexible Net hosting plans?
  • A free website transfer is provided for all Flexible Net clients. Our technical support team will move all of the content on your website to our servers and make sure that your website is configured properly.

To initiate a website transfer, you need to submit a ticket to our support team via your Client Area. Also, provide the following details in the new ticket:

    * FTP Details so we can transfer the files of your website

    * Control Panel details so we can transfer the database of your website

Shortly after you submit your ticket, our technical support team will initiate the transfer and update you constantly during the process. We cannot provide the exact ETA on the transfer, but we aim to complete that as quickly as possible, depending on the size of your website.

How to Use an SSL Certificate from another Company with your Flex Net Account?
  • Yes, you can have SSL purchased via another hosting company installed on your hosting account with us. Still, if you are hosting your website on a shared hosting package you will need to purchase a Dedicated IP and SSL Installation service. This service provides your hosting account with a dedicated IP address so our techs can setup the SSL for you.

What is a Virtual Private Server?
  • A virtual private server (VPS) is a virtual machine that runs an independent copy of an operating system (OS), and customers can allocate all the available resources without most of the restrictions of a typical shared hosting environment.

For almost any hosting purposes, they are functionally equivalent to a dedicated physical server but much more cost-efficient, highly scalable and provides a level of redundancy that most bare-metal (physical server) solutions are missing.

Flexible Net VPS servers are powered by fully-redundant, SSD Cloud hosting infrastructure, which makes them ideal for high-traffic websites and resource demanding applications.

What is the difference between VPS and Shared Hosting?
  • Websites hosted on a Shared Hosting environment have access to a shared pool of server resources available to a single physical or virtual server. Because of the nature of this setup, certain limitations and restrictions apply to the amount of resources each user can allocate for a specified period.

Although the concept of sharing resources makes the Shared Hosting service very cost-efficient for the end user, some high-traffic and resource-demanding websites and applications may require more than the available fair-share resources or a more flexible setup and configuration that is not suitable for a shared environment.

For such projects, the Virtual Private Server provides an excellent alternative by being much more affordable than a fully dedicated server and far more powerful performance-wise than a typical shared hosting service.

Additionally, customers may have superuser-level access to the operating system instance, create unlimited hosting accounts, install almost any software that runs on that OS and freely allocate all the available server resources without affecting or being affected by other customers' websites.

I don't have any Linux/Unix experience, is this right service for me?
  • Although having some Linux/Unix experience can be useful, you don't need to have any technical knowledge to take full advantage of your server. All Flexible Net services come with web-based cPanel/WHM control panel via which you can manage all your websites without any system administration skills.

In case you need any technical assistance, you can always contact our 24/7 technical support team as a part of the Fully Managed service included with every plan.

What is the difference between managed and unmanaged service?
  • Usually, an unmanaged service means that you are provided with access to a specific hosting environment (whether a dedicated or a virtual server) with minimal configuration and setup. Having such service provided as-it-is means that you will need to install, configure, and maintain all software and technical aspects (including monitoring and security updates) by yourself. Furthermore, the unmanaged service usually includes no technical support and control panel or such are provided as a paid service. In general, unmanaged services are recommended for very experienced users with lots of technical knowledge who prefer to manage all the aspects of their infrastructure on their own.

On the other hand, with the Flexible Net Fully Managed service you will receive fully setup and optimized server with a powerful web-based control panel. Additionally, our 24/7 Technical Support will take care of your server security, optimization and help you with any technical issues you may face completely free of charge. You can check the full list of Technical Support Services for more information on our Fully Managed Service.

What is Wordpress?
  • Put simply, WordPress is a software that you can use to create your own site, blog, even application. After its first release back in 2003, WordPress has been improving to mature into an extensively flexible Content Management System (CMS). Today, WordPress powers more than 30% of the web. That’s including some of the most popular sites you know. WordPress is the platform that offers you the capability to build and manage your personal website and make it as complete as possible without the need for code writing knowledge. Frankly, if you have used a text editor such as MS Word, you will probably have zero problems with the WordPress Editor.

In our days, there are some discussions about a new platform type - Digital Experience Platform (DXP), and the fact is, WordPress is the closest one to that description. Basically, a DXP is an integrated set of technologies, based on a common platform that can reach multiple highly-specific users on a more personalized basis. While the majority of marketing campaigns are tailored to their specific platforms, a DXP would give you the opportunity to carry out such campaigns, regardless of your device.

Is Wordpress free?
  • To answer your question quickly - Yes, WordPress is free! It’s open-source software which grants you the freedom to use, modify, build upon, and redistribute the software in any way you would like to without paying any additional fees.

However, in order to publish WordPress on the web, you will need a WordPress friendly web hosting.

Do I need to have core writing knowledge to use Wordpress?
  • You most certainly don’t! The majority of WordPress users are not tech-savvy, exactly because there is no need for CSS or PHP knowledge when you are operating the CMS. There are more than enough feature-rich plugins and themes that will help you in making your website appealing with ease.

Will there be an extra fee if I want to install a Wordpress when using the Flexible Net?
  • Installing WordPress comes included in the package and there will be no extra fees applied. This can be easily done with just a few clicks with the use of Softaculous from your cPanel. You can always depend on our support team to install any CMS for you upon request, which would be free of charge.

What is a domain name?
  • A domain name is basically your address name on the web, or alternatively said the URL that people type in the browser to access your website. An example would be the domain name for our site is https://www.flexible-net.eu/. Having a custom domain name gives your site the desired professional look, while also improving your brand identity, and helping visitors find you on the Internet.

Even if you do not have a website, it is not a bad idea to register your branded domain name when you are certain about it, before someone else beats you to the punch.

Are domains and websites separated things?
  • Domain names and websites are closely related but require separate services. A domain is used by Internet users to access your website. Our domain name, for example, is https://www.flexible-net.eu/. Web hosting, on the other hand, is what is needed to make your website appear online. Behind every domain, there is a web hosting service address where the files that compose your website are being stored.

I have an existing domain at a different company. Can I transfer it to Flexible Net?
  • Of course! When registering a domain name, you are considered as the official domain name owner. At any time you can decide whether to switch registrar that suits your requirements better. There are many people that initially register their domain names with one web host and end up switching to another.

We offer a simple and straightforward transferring process, which ensures that your domain is transferred as quickly and effortlessly as possible. Besides the free perks that come with each domain registered with us, there are even more incentives to transfer your existing domain to Flexible Net:

    * The transfer process of your domain name with FastComet is entirely free of charge;

    * You can have everything centralized and manage your entire experience from the one place - both your domain and hosting services;

    * We will renew it for you for one year free of charge.

However, your registered domain name has to meet some requirements. It’s easy to get started and we provide all of the information you’ll need to walk you through the process.

My domain name in NOT Registeredby, nor transfered to Flexible Net, can I renew it with Flexible Net?
  • For the period which it is registered, you own the domain, and you are responsible for its renewals. However, you can only renew the domain name via its Registrar. When you use a Registrar to register your domain name, it becomes your domain’s home. The Registrar is also the place from where you can manage your domain, including renewal payments, DNS Zone edits, etc. Once you transfer the domain name over to Flexible Net, you would be able to renew it here for one year free of charge.
